Lynne is a Scottish film director, writer, producer, and cinematographer best known for WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN and YOU WERE NEVER REALLY HERE. Her films are marked by a fascination with children and young people and the recurring themes of grief, guilt and death. Most of Lynne's movies are are based on books; but they’re not the usual straightforward filmic translation. By reimagining a book’s imagining, she creates her own new world. Lynne was also a member of the 'Official Competition' jury at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival in 2015 and a member of the 'Official Competition' jury at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival in 2013.
