Houda is a French-Moroccan director whose directorial debut film DIVINES premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and took home the prestigious Camera d'Or at the festival. In 2017, it was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best foreign language film. The film follows a young girl from the French ghetto and her slow descent into a life of crime. Variety commended the film as a “punchy, pacy directorial debut” that ought to be “a career-making film.” Houda is the founder of an organization called 1000 Faces to help kids from diverse backgrounds learn how to make films. For DIVINES, Houda also won three CESAR awards (equivalent of French Oscars) including Best Debut Film. She is currently in post on her first pilot, DEADLIER THAN THE MALE, executive produced by Bruna Papandrea for TNT.
