Sonejuhi’s directing career began with a narrative short film, 'Love Comes Later,' which was one of ten short films accepted to the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Sonejuhi was then invited by the Cannes Film Festival to participate in their feature development program Next Step in Paris to develop her feature script. After completing the Cannes Next Steps development program in Paris, award-winning Indian filmmaker Sonejuhl presents her latest work 'Miles of Sand'—a powerful exploration of motherhood, poverty, and the fight for personal agency in rural India.
