Sofia Coppola

Sofia Coppola is a writer, director, and producer, known best for her films THE VIRGIN SUICIDES (1999) and LOST IN TRANSLATION (2003). In 2004, she received the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for LOST IN TRANSLATION, and became the third woman to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director. Coppola followed with the critically-acclaimed MARIE ANTOINETTE (2006), and SOMEWHERE (2010), the latter of which earned her the Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival - the first American woman to do so. Coppola then directed THE BLING RING (2013) and THE BEGUILED (2017), which premiered at Cannes and won Coppola the Best Director award. She is currently working on the A24/Apple feature titled ON THE ROCKS, starring Rashida Jones and Bill Murray.
