Josephine Decker

Recently named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film," Josephine Decker has directed three feature narrative thriller films: BUTTER ON THE LATCH (2013), THOU WAST MILK AND LOVELY (2014), and MADELINE'S MADELINE (2018). She also co-directed the documentary BI THE WAY (2008) with Brittany Blockman.

Her film THOU WAST MILK AND LOVELY, starring Joe Swanberg and inspired by a character from John Steinbeck's East of Eden, was said by The New Yorker to be ushering in a "new grammar" of narrative. MADELINE'S MADELINE premiered at Sundance in 2018, and also screened at Berlin where it was nominated for the CICAE award.
