Janicza rose to prominence after writing and directing the short film 'Gregory Go Boom', starring Michael Cera, which took home the Short Film Jury Prize at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. She followed that up with multiple award winning shorts like 'Pauline Alone' and 'Woman in Deep.' She most recently wrote and directed LEMON, a feature which premiered at Sundance and subsequently sold to Magnolia, who released the film last August. She is also set to direct ZOLA, which is set up at A24 with Killer Films and Ramona Films producing. On the TV side, Janicza has accrued several high-end credits including HERE, NOW and DIVORCE for HBO, as well as LOVE and DEAR WHITE PEOPLE. Additionally, she directed an episode of FX’s ATLANTA titled “Juneteenth”. Before that, she adapted a short story for Amazon as part of their collaboration with The New Yorker.
